Just go ahead and look, it won&#8217;t hurt.<\/p>\n<p><i><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hat tip to <a href=\"http:\/\/strange.humanities.mcmaster.ca\/~grockwel\/weblog\/wpnotes\/index.php?p=index\">Geoffrey<\/a> for pointing me here.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/i><\/p>\n<h2>Prepare to be impressed<\/h2>\n<p>I&#8217;ve always been fascinated by <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Savant_Syndrome\">savants<\/a>, but while I watched <i>Rainman<\/i> and I&#8217;ve seen the odd documentary on TV, I never delved into the topic further.<\/p>\n<p>Then I saw <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boingboing.net\/2007\/03\/21\/daniel_tammet_amazin.html\">this post<\/a> on <i>Boing Boing.<\/i> It linked to some video from CBS&#8217;s <i>60 Minutes<\/i> featuring a story on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.optimnem.co.uk\/\">Daniel Tammet<\/a>.
