But I often forget just how useful it can be.<\/p>\n<p>For example, suppose you know something is 23 feet long and you&#8217;re wondering what that is in metres. You could look up a metric conversion program or you can just type &#8220;23 feet =&#8221; (without the quotes) in the Google search box and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?client=safari&#038;rls=en-us&#038;q=23+feet+=&#038;ie=UTF-8&#038;oe=UTF-8\">voila<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But if you really want to find out how powerful and useful the search function can be, click on the &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/intl\/en\/help\/features.html#calculator\">More about calculator<\/a>&#8221; link that shows up beneath your results.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a whole lot of useful things that are worth noting, such as how to find weather for any city, sports scores, stock quotes, dictionary definitions, etc.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/intl\/en\/help\/features.html#calculator\">Here&#8217;s the link<\/a> to the Google reference page.<\/p>\n<p><em>Thanks to Patrick Mead-Robbins from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vmug.bc.ca\/\">Victoria Mac User Group<\/a> for reminding me about this valuable tool.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>That little Google search box at the top of most browser pages is a really powerful tool.
